While watching news about the most recent cartel violence I saw a commercial about a current soap opera. After viewing the commercial, I was confused. I thought: What is Bianaca Marroquin doing in a soap opera????

Marroquin is originally from the border cities of Matamoros, Tamaulipas (Mexico) and Brownsville, Texas. As a result, Marroquin was raised as a Mexican-American. In Texas, she studied ballet, jazz, flamenco and tap. In Mexico, she studied communications.

Marroquin decided to pursue a theatre career and moved to Mexico City. At the beginning of her career, Marroquin participated n several Mexican productions of Broadway musicals. Eventually, she was noticed and invited to perform in more recent production of Chicago at the Shubert Theatre (Broadway). After her Broadway debut, Marroquin returned to Mexico City for a few more Mexican productions.
In 2010, Marroquin returned to Broadway to perform in the play In The Heights. More recently, Marroquin participates as a judge in Mexican talent competitions. Additionally, Marroquin stars as the main protagonist in the telenovela Esperanza Del Corazon. Although Spanish television is often considered less prestigious than Broadway, Marroquin demonstrates that her acting talent transcends different venues.
